Arun Stanley Paul Mathuram, the founder of Guru Remedies, was born and raised in South India. Arun was born into a family of deeply religious, visionary, and prayerful healers. A bright young man, Arun arrived in the United States to pursue graduate studies in Environmental Engineering. As Arun grew older and spent more time in the United States, he saw a great need for natural medicines; medicines to aid people live healthier lives, without the side effects often associated with synthetic drugs. Arun always trusted and believed that one day he would share with the world the many wonderful products that were originally formulated by his ancestors, South India’s legendary men of medicine, the Mathurams.

In 2004, a dream came true when he inherited his family's original formulations. Unfortunately, the formulations were written in a combination of Tamil (an ancient language of South India), English and apothecary shorthand. After many painstaking hours of research and prayer, and with the encouragement and support of his wife and mother, he was finally able to decipher the formulations. Deciphering the formulations only set him up for the next challenge: obtaining the necessary ingredients. Arun insisted on using only wild harvested (organic) herbs. Once again, after much searching he was able to find the herbs and spices he needed to recreate the formulations. Arun then spent several months perfecting the first product – Guru Salve
 
 

Arun introduced Guru Salve to the public in early 2005. People were amazed at the efficacy of an all-natural product and it was very well received. Arun was extremely touched and encouraged by the stories and testimonials that he heard from many people. He felt a great deal of fulfillment knowing that his offering provided relief from many forms of pain and treated fever, cough, cold and flu symptoms. He finally felt that an avenue was revealed to serve the Lord and to keep alive a family legacy of reaching, healing, caring, and giving.

Currently, Arun Mathuram is happily married and the proud father of three four beautiful daughters. He splits his time between his family and running Guru Remedies. Following in the footsteps of his ancestors, Arun is dedicated to producing medicine of the highest quality. He dreams not only of providing natural medicines to people to enable them to lead healthier lives, but also of personally being involved in touching people's lives as far as God wants him to, in the ways He desires.
